Mahindra has its head quarters at Mumbai, Maharastra in India which was founded in 1945. Mahindra is an automotive company of Indian manufacturer and has a flagship of Mahindra group. The founder of Mahindra are K.C. Mahindra, J.C Mahindra and Malik Gulam Mohammed but after India's Independence Mohammed left India and became Pakistan's Finance Minister. In 1948,the company changed its name to Mahindra and Mahindra which was a steel company manufacturing general-purpose utility vehicles, starting with assembly under licence of the iconic Willys Jeep to become the Jeep manufacturers of India. Mahindra emerged as a global success in both automotive and tractor businesses with the manufacture of light commercial vehicles and agriculture tractors.

Mahindra has a stake in REVA Electric Car Company and acquired South Korean Motor company in 2011. Mahindra major production includes utility vehicles, passenger cars, pickups, commercial vehicles, and two wheelers. Mahindra exports its tractors to six continents and have plants at China, U.K and USA. Mahindra has partnership with global companies like Renault SA, France and International Truck and Engine Corporation, USA.

Mahindra has a joint venture with Ford and manufacture passenger cars under the name Ford India Private Limited. Mahindra makes vehicles which include MUVs, LCVs and three wheelers. In 2008, Mahindra has decided to give platform for new and improved vehicles with features like SUV designed to seat five passengers and powered by a small turbo diesel engine.

Mahindra Xylo was introduced in 2009 which was a global success. Mahindra is the largest producer of trucks in India and one of the leading brands in the world. Mahindra designs, develops farm components and markets tractors. Mahindra has planned to sell diesel SUVs and pickup trucks to North America. The latest Mahindra models are Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Scorpio W, Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Thar, Mahindra logan. Mahindra India has emerged as one of the popular brand`s category since mid 90s. Diligent services, impeccable technology and precision placed Mahindra Cars in India on the top position along side with other brands.
