Mahindra Renault is an automotive company which is a joint venture between Mahindra and Mahindra limited and Renault S.A of France with 51% and 49% stake respectively. Mahindra Renault was founded in 2007 and have head quarter at Nasik, Maharashtra. In 2010, it was decided that Mahindra will buy Renault's share and Renault would supply vital components through license agreement. Mahindra Renault has a manufacturing plant in Nasik which nearly produces 50000 vehicles in a year and Renault and Nissan together have a manufacturing plant in Chennai divided equally with a capacity of 400000 vehicles.

Mahindra is an Indian manufacturing company which produces utility vehicles, passenger cars, pickups, commercial vehicles, and two wheelers. Renault is a French manufacturing company which makes cars, vans, auto rail vehicles, trucks and tractors. Renault introduced Renault Logan which was sold as Dacia Logan in European countries and Asian countries. In some countries it was marketed as Renault Logan whereas Logan is also sold as Nissan Aprio which has a 1.6litre 16 valve engine with 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission. Renault Logan is marketed as Mahindra Renault in India where the partnership started in 2005 between Mahindra and Renault.

In 2010 mahindra bought Renault's 49% share and got more flexibility in engineering the car to suit the customer needs. Renault Logan will be named as Mahindra Renault till 2010 and later it will be renamed and bear only Mahindra logo. Mahindra Renault has 137 dealership in 120 cities in India where Mahindra network is used for the sale and service of Renault brand in India. Mahindra Renault had features like the boxy look which is right hand drive but has features of left hand drive, the power windows are placed at the centre console and hood release lever is located on passenger side. The latest model of Mahindra Renault is the Logan Edge which is available in both petrol and diesel with engine capacity of 1.4 litre to 1.6 litre and have stylish body graphics, anti-lock braking system, reverse parking sensor new interior features.

Mahindra Renault will continue their joint venture where the monthly sales of the company has been at around 500 unit level and to redesign the Logan by reducing the length by four metres so that it can sell as a small car in India and reduce excise duty to eight percent. Renault Logan is important for Renault as it is the first production from Mahindra.
